Air filter subscriptions: how they work, by seller
An air filter subscription ships replacement filters to your door on a schedule you set. Filterbuy delivers every 1 to 12 months and AprilAire every 3 to 24 months, each with free shipping; Trane's runs through FilterTime.
A subscription is a filter delivery on a schedule
Filterbuy describes it as “an automatic delivery service that sends replacement furnace, AC, or HVAC filters to your home on a schedule you set.” You pick the size, the MERV rating and how often, once.

Trane's three steps
- Trane says to choose your filter sizes and delivery schedule.
- FilterTime, its fulfillment partner, ships the filters to your door.
- You change the filters when they arrive.
Renewals are announced by email
- AprilAire says renewal orders are placed at the frequency listed, and it emails cost notices at least three days before the next order.
- Filterbuy says you get a reminder three days before every shipment, and order emails link to where you manage the subscription.
Filter life sets the schedule
